As a manufacturer of track systems for all-terrain vehicles, Soucy needs a cybersecurity solution that’s just as adaptable – but their old platform was merely an excuse for a coffee break.
With Riot, Soucy made cybersecurity fun and engaging, pushing completion rates to 100% and helping people stay ready for the latest threats. Here’s how.
The machinery is heavy, but the risk is human
When you think about all-terrain track systems, cybersecurity might not come to mind. As Jean-François Nadeau, CISO / DPO at Soucy says: “In manufacturing, you tend to think about heavy machinery. But in reality, people are connected and work with a computer on a daily basis.”
This connectivity is exactly what makes the Soucy team such a big target. And unfortunately, they’re not alone. “Every company suffers from cyberattacks,” says Jean-François. “Some say they don’t. I would say that they lie.”
With ransomware targeting the manufacturing sector more often, Jean-François knew getting attacked wasn’t a question of if, but when – and everyone at Soucy had to be ready. “How do we protect ourselves, and also our employees, from the rise of those threats?”

A training platform people learned to skip
Before Riot, Soucy relied on a more basic training approach: videos and e-learning modules. While this might have made sense on paper, Soucy employees just found a way to avoid it.
“People would find tricks to start the video and go grab a coffee,” says Jean-François. The result? The company’s executive committee consistently sat below 20% training completion.
This wasn’t an awareness problem, but a mismatch in format. The old training simply wasn’t engaging enough to compete with a coffee break, and people had no reason to do it. To overcome this gap, Soucy needed to rethink how to engage employees on cyber risk.
Enter: Riot.
‘Fun and engaging’ – the road to 100% completion with Riot
For Joannie Mailhot, Head of Communication at Soucy, Riot’s interactive format has made all the difference. “The first time I used Riot, I was really excited. I found the interaction with Albert fun and engaging. It’s a good way to communicate something to people.”
Even better, it was simple to get started. “It took fifteen minutes to implement,” says Jean-François, “but it’s helping people bring cyber awareness to the next level.” Now, Soucy is designing courses and phishing simulations to match the needs of each of its subsidiaries.
After such a smooth deployment, the impact was huge: soon, the executive committee reached 100% completion. “They’ve completed all their training, and they like it.”
Today, Riot is helping 2,000+ companies like Soucy stay safe from cyber attacks. We deliver immersive training people don’t just sit through, but actually enjoy.
